Script problem? edit

No idea why but every page on Wiktionary loads fine for me except this one. On my laptop, Chrome gives me a "This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources" and refuses to load, giving me a full page of gray and not even the normal dinosaur game. If I tell the computer to give me the bad script, it flashes the content of the page, then still goes back to the gray screen. Editing the URL so that I go directly to the "share" page's editing screen still just ends up with the same dead page. It loads just fine on my phone and presumably your computers as well.

Any idea what's going on? — LlywelynII 07:57, 9 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Spanish edit

This entry looks very suspicious. Real Academia Española mentions nothing, and if a word like it was loaned, I'd think it would have its orthography adapted to something like "cher(o)" or "jer(o)". It was added by User:Lirafafrod, which doesn't seem to have a fully credible history. [1] Could someone check out if it's a proper word, occurring in any Standard Spanish variant, and not just as some kind of code-switching exception. Wakuran (talk) 00:53, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Kinda surprising that a word like that would be borrowed, since it's so foreign to standard Spanish orthography. There are hardly any other words I know of starting with sh-. Wakuran (talk) 01:10, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Wakuran I also recently came across flashback, and it reminded me of this discussion. Really this should be in the category Category:Spanish terms borrowed from English, where you'll find just a few more terms in Spanish that use "sh". PseudoSkull (talk) 14:11, 4 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Wakuran Also, a word of advice: next time, it would probably be more convenient for you to use Wiktionary:Requests for verification instead of an entry's talk page for entry verification. Luck had it your way this time, but most talk pages are not regularly followed here. PseudoSkull (talk) 14:16, 4 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
