For software engineering/computer science "sanity test" is definitely related to smoke testing (as a slightly more rigorous quick test). Editor(s): (Low priority cleanup request) Please consider fixing external link to be a inter-wiki link to wikipedia. Wikipedia has a good article on sanity test but my attemt to make a standard inter-wiki link to Wikipedia would return "term not found" so I used a regular external link markup.
