There are a lot of noun definitions for this word, and I don't believe the translations are correct for all of them. I've flagged the translations that are not verified with HTML comments. Missing sense

This is missing the meaning that is used in stock still, which probably is related to the meaning of the word cognate to stocken/Stock in German, which means something like stiff or rigid. 66.112.117.13 00:21, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

plural

 the horses, cattle, sheep, and other useful animals kept or raised on a farm or ranch:

STOCK [uncountable]: farm animals, such as cows and sheep, that are kept for their meat, wool, etc. SEE ALSO livestock 
LIVESTOCK [uncountable, plural]: animals kept on a farm, for example cows or sheep
