Using “M” as an abbreviation too, besides "K" edit

M” as an abbreviation for thousand dates back to the Roman numeral system. It is still used in instances like CPM, or "cost per thousand impressions". JMGN (talk) 15:40, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Usage note: short thousand edit

The number 1000 is sometimes described as a short thousand in medieval contexts where it is necessary to distinguish the Germanic concept of 1200 as a long thousand. JMGN (talk) 15:52, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
