Pronunciation: /tʌpəl/, right? Not /tuːpəl/? edit

tʌpəl

Note: A pronunciation robot recently entered the Rhymes entry as:

However, I believe that the correct ending sound is -ʌpəl. I changed the Rhymes entry and added the tʌpəl entry. Mathematicians, please confirm this or revert if needed. Lumbercutter 22:41, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Recently" was 6 months ago. I've added the original back -- two alternatives now. I would think (if English were at all consistent) that this would rhyme with quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, septuple, octuple. Dictionaries show both vowels for these words (also ʊ). I say -upəl for all these. Cynewulf 23:07, 1 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
In the North of England, this would be /tuːpəl/. Mglovesfun (talk) 12:15, 6 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

"tuple is not synonymous with ordered set" (see entry in Wikipedia)
