Talk:twenty one

• Isn't the number 21 written in words as "twenty-one", with a hyphen?
  • Microsoft Word thinks it's correct either way. Maybe there should be a note in the entry? -- Minh Nguyen, 2003-09-21 17:23:09 (EDT)

If MS Word sees the words twenty and one next to each other it will probably consider them as separate words. I tried googling, but I can't seem to draw a conclusion from it. One dictionary has twenty-one, so I guess that's what it should be.Polyglot 21:47, 21 Oct 2003 (UTC)

According to the Oxford Style Manual, (2003 edition): "Use hyphens in spelt-out numbers from twenty-one to ninety-nine... and in fractions, unless the numerator and denominator are already hyphenated." Eclecticology
