This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote from Judas (Roud 2964, Child Ballad 23, Trinity College MS. B.14.39), written c. 1275 and often considered to be the first recorded (Middle) English ballad; it can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the Wren Digital Library at Trinity College, Cambridge.

The template takes the following parameters:

|line= or |lines= – the line number(s) quoted from. When quoting a range of lines, separate the first and last pages of the range with an en dash, like this: |lines=5–6. The work does not indicate line numbers, so if it is desired to include these, look them up from a later edition of the work.
|1=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage to be quoted from the work.
|2=, |t=, or |translation= – a translation of the passage into contemporary English.
|footer= – a comment about the passage quoted.
|brackets= – use |brackets=on to surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.
|termlang= – by default, the template categorizes entries on which it is placed into Category:Middle English terms with quotations. To have the template categorize an entry into Category:English terms with quotations instead, use |termlang=en.
