Documentation for Template:ast-noun. [edit]
This page contains usage information, categories, interwiki links and other content describing the template.

Usage edit

This template is designed for use with all Asturian nouns that have both a singular and plural form, regardless of gender.

This template should be placed in all Asturian noun sections, immediately following the ===Noun=== section header. It provides the headword line for the entry. The template also automatically categorizes the entry in Category:Asturian nouns.

Only use this template for the lemma (singular) form.

As with other Wiktionary headword templates, please do not use subst:.

Parameters edit

The template takes one or two unnamed parameters.

  • {{{1}}} : the grammatical gender, e.g. m, f
  • {{{2}}} : the plural form, e.g. llapiceros

For a noun that forms its plural by adding s, enter the template as follows under the Noun subheading:

{{ast-noun|m}}
{{ast-noun|f}}

E.g., on "imaxe":

===Noun===
{{ast-noun|f}}
documentation f (plural ast-noun/documentations)

If the plural is formed in any way other than adding an s (including most regular nouns, and including when the plural form is equivalent to the singular), include the plural form as the second (unnamed) parameter.

E.g., on "llapiceru":

{{ast-noun|m|llapiceros}}
llapiceru m (plural llapiceros)

E.g., on "abreviatura":

{{ast-noun|f|abreviatures}}
abreviatura f (plural abreviatures)

E.g., on "llibertá":

{{ast-noun|f|llibertaes}}
llibertá f (plural llibertaes)

If the noun is plurale tantum (with no singular form), use the template {{head}} instead:

E.g., on "gafes":

{{head|ast|nouns|g=f-p}}
gafes f pl

If the noun has no plural form, or if you do not know the plural, use the template {{head}} instead:

E.g., on "carbonu":

{{head|ast|nouns|g=m}}
carbonu m

If the noun has both masculine and feminine forms, use the template {{ast-noun-mf}}.

E.g., on "italianu":

{{ast-noun-mf|italian}}
italianu m sg (feminine singular italiana, masculine plural italianos, feminine plural italianes)

This template contains the necessary meta-data to allow users who are using accelerated editing to create any grammatical forms semi-automatically.
