Template:sga-verb form

sga-verb form

This template is used to create a headword line for Old Irish verb forms (nonlemma forms). It takes one positional parameter and one named parameter, both optional. The first positional parameter shows how the headword should be displayed if it is different from the page name. This is typically the case for conjunct forms (including prototonic and deuterotonic forms), which are displayed with the · symbol before the stressed syllable. For example:

  • at dogníu, to be displayed as do·gníu, type:
{{sga-verb form|do·gníu}}
  • at ithim, to be displayed as ithim, type:
{{sga-verb form}}

The named parameter is |mut= and indicates which mutation (if any) the form triggers. This is particularly relevant for forms of the copula. If the form triggers lenition, type:

|mut=l

and if it triggers eclipsis, type:

|mut=e
