Passive participial forms

This template produces "passive" forms of the two common Danish participles, both suffixed with an -s. As a native Danish speaker, this seems strange to me. For instance for the verb "at danse" the template produces the forms "dansendes" and "dansets". I think this is wrong; such forms do not exist (the form "dansendes" does exist, but as a genitive of the base form, not as a passive form). —Pinnerup (talk) 22:19, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

@Pinnerup Yes, this is, frankly, ridiculous. We really need a proper verb-conjugation template. In terms of content -- but not design! -- I envision something like this; feedback on that would be much appreciated.
As regards forms like dansendes, I view those as the genitive of the participle used as an adjective used as a noun, as in De dansendes fødder var ømme.__Gamren (talk) 17:36, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

Indeed. Unfortunately I'm not versed in template creation, so I dare not attempt a new template myself, but so far I've removed the two non-existing "passive forms" from the existing template. —Pinnerup (talk) 13:40, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

I apologize for my misunderstanding years ago when I created this template. By genitive form, why is it that "dansendes" or "dansedes" will redirect to "danse" in ordnet.dk? Why does it do that if they're not passive forms, or some kind of form of the verb? @User:Gamren, @User:Pinnerup Philmonte101 (talk) 20:59, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Seriously, I do feel very bad, I am deeply sorry. I try to do my best when entering Danish entries, because it is my favorite language. I was told by a Danish internet user (not on Wiktionary or any wiki affiliates) that these were all forms of the verb, but you know, he's not exactly a linguistics geek like we all are, so I just assumed they were all passive forms, since -es is a passive suffix. :( Philmonte101 (talk) 00:11, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Like in English, a participle may be used as an adjective. Unlike in English, virtually any adjective may be used as a noun. The genitive of a noun is formed by appending -s. If you wish to help fix this, I suspect a comment on RFD would expedite the process.

Infinitives

There is an active infinitive (e.g. forklare 'to explain') and a passive infinitive (e.g. forklare 'to be explained') for transitive verbs. Those should be added in the paradigm. -- Puisque (talk) 06:22, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
