Template talk:en-plural noun

Latest comment: 6 years ago by SanctMinimalicen in topic Revert if necessary

Documentation edit

For use on English plurale tantum in place of {{en-noun}}.

The optional first parameter can be used to provide a linked pagename.

Discussion edit

This seems appropriate only for nouns that have no senses that are true plurals. It would not handle [[statistics]] well (not that that entry is yet well-formatted using other tools). DCDuring TALK 14:54, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This doesn't have a way to handle sg=, pos=, head= situations. See first principles. DCDuring TALK 18:28, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Revert if necessary edit

I reverted a change by Daniel Carrero said to be unnecessary which put the template into Category:English nouns. Please revert my reversion if there should prove to be a problem. DCDuring TALK 18:28, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Uncountability edit

Some, but not all plural nouns are uncountable. The template does not support uncountability as {{en-noun}} does, though someone inexperienced with our inconsistency might expect it to. DCDuring TALK 18:56, 12 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Middle English edit

It would be nice to have this template (and a number of others available to en) for enm entries. I'm not experienced enough to know how changeable that is or not, but I think it's worth mentioning. --SanctMinimalicen (talk) 03:04, 1 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Return to "en-plural noun" page.
