Parameters edit

The parameter is the language, not the code, isn't it? I added a request to ظهر, as a result, it only added to Category:Requests for audio pronunciation, not to Category:Requests for audio pronunciation (Arabic). Anatoli 00:20, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I experimented with it. You need to write it twice: {{rfap|Arabic|Arabic}} --Anatoli 11:42, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
The first parameter is for the textual description of what language/dialect is needed. The second is used for categorization (can be code or name). I've just added lang= so you can use that also instead of the second parameter. --Bequw τ 04:57, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Audio recording edit

There is an open source software that synthesizes words in a good quality : Festival (Wikipedia page). A little program can be made to generate lots of word pronunciations. Ftiercel 08:08, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think it should be still done by humans. Anatoli 22:43, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Multiple langs edit

Can this be made to accomodate multiple requested languages/dialects, so we don't need to have two, big, nearly-identical boxes on the page? ExampleMichael Z. 2010-05-04 01:30 z

Self-adjusting width edit

At [[Bulgaria]], with rhs ToC, this template appears after the ToC and forces a large amount of white space on the landing screen. DCDuring TALK 16:44, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

{{rfp}} has the same problem. {{rfe}} does not. DCDuring TALK 16:54, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

[[:Category:English terms needing attention]] edit

This template should not categorize in this category. The change already worked for {{rfd}} would seem applicable. I'll work up the courage to do it in a couple of days or possibly revert to an earlier version that doesn't do this. DCDuring TALK 23:05, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why do we need parameters? edit

Wouldn't it be evident what the requested language is by the location where the template is used? Wouldn't one parameter be good enough to tell the reader which language, specifically, is requested?--Makkachin (talk) 17:31, 27 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Redlink category edit

@Daniel Carrero: It seems to be linking to a redlink category (see snöben, for example). I don't really know if it should link to a category at all, but if it should, it should be the right one. (Pinging you because this may need to be changed again in the future, and you seem to be on top of that.) —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 01:08, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. I changed the category link. If you see any entry still with the old redlink, you can just wait or try purging the page. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 01:16, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 01:17, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Template causing stray characters to appear edit

Hi, @Benwing2, an edit to this template seems to be causing the appearance of the stray characters "{{#if:||" after the template in the entry brae. — SGconlaw (talk) 16:11, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Sgconlaw Thanks for letting me know; fixed. Benwing2 (talk) 16:15, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Great, much obliged! — SGconlaw (talk) 16:22, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Return to "rfap" page.
