From Spanish tetilla (little breast), because the cheese is usually shaped into cones that resemble breasts or (half) pears.

  1. (A cone of) a cow's-milk cheese, made in Galicia, which resembles a small breast (hence the name) or a half-pear (hence the alternate name perilla).
