  1. Urk (a village, municipality, and former island in Flevoland, Netherlands).

Usage notes edit

Urk was an island until the late 1930s. It is generally preferred, especially by people from Urk, to say op Urk (“on Urk”) instead of in Urk (“in Urk”) as if it were still an island.
