Out of curiosity, why did you add the references to reniform? The refernces you added are mispleading, as they are not the source of the information in the page. I added the term from my own experience in botany, and probably first saw the term in a textbook about ferns. --EncycloPetey 19:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- But if they're not the source of the information, then what purpose do they serve? At best, all they do is point out that the word appears in other dictionaries. At worst, they imply that we copied from other dictionaries. It would be much better to add quotations demonstrating use of the word, rather than secondary references. --EncycloPetey 19:49, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- Appearance in a dictionary does not prove that a word is "real". The words onychophagist and elemenopy have never been found outside of dictionaries, and the latter is known to have been invented deliberately as a hoax by the writer of the first dictionary in which it appeared. The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Atropos~enwiktionary that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
