English loanwords

Please duplicate all of these entries at tt:täwge Bit. They speak Tatar there and can judge whether these words are acceptable, and if they will allow the words to remain there, then we will also allow them here. Tatar translation help

Tatar planets

Why did you add incorrect translations for planets? "Mercury" is not a tatar name of Mercury. Same with Pluto. Same with Venera (which is exactly Chulpan). Why do you do this? --Jaroslavleff 15:49, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm doing this using modern correct translations for planets.

Citation: 8 klassik planetağa qarıy, menä alar: Merkuri, Venus, Cir, Mars, Yupiter, Saturn, Uran häm Neptun. Pluto xäzer başqa kategoriädä, ul kärlä planeta...

Translation: 8 classic planets, they are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto now in other category, it is dwarf planet.

Cir(Zhir) also spelled as Ear, Yer, Er.

Folk synonyms for Venera (Chulpan, Dan Yoldus, Dan Setar, Suhra) and Mars(Marc Setar, Marh Setar) used mainly in poetry.

Not only tatar, modern azerbaijanian names for planets also close to commonly accepted termins: Merkuri , Venera, Mars,Yupiter, Saturn, Uran, Neptun, Pluton...

Another request

Could you look at the entries listed on Category:tt:Cardinal numbers? I got the list from a page on Wikipedia, and don't know whether or not it's correct. --EncycloPetey 03:56, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Cardinal numbers almost correct (thanks Stephan). However, eighty(80) usually spelled in Latin as siksän.

Also forty(40) often spelled in Latin as qırık. Eric Utgerd 05:29, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Appendix:Units of time

You put secunda, minuta, saat, gün, watna, hafta, ay, yel, thanne as Tatar words. I am certain that some of these are completely wrong. For example, Tatar "c" is pronounced similar to English "j", and I doubt that the word for "second" is "сежунда". And what is the "th" in "thanne"? Since most Tatar is written in Cyrillic, you should give the Cyrillic spelling first. These may or may not be Tatar words, but if they are, they are misspelt. We want ONLY words that are spelled correctly and written in the proper alphabet. If you don’t know the real spelling, don’t put the word at all. —Stephen 14:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Category names

When naming categories, we only capitalize the first word. Any following words are supposed to be all lower case. So, for example, Category:Historical Numbers should be Category:Historical numbers. Except for the first word, capital letters are only acceptable if the word is a proper noun, such as the name of a country or the name of a language. Re: Expertise required

Kampela is derived from (deprecated template usage) kampi, which has originally meant also "twisted, crooked". "Root" (I'm not sure it is exactly correct term in all cases in linguistic sense) means the part of the word that is not inflected: kampel|a, plural kampel|at, genitive plural kampel|oiden etc. Click the star and you see an example of a word that inflects in exactly same way. --Jyril 18:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
