• How to edit a page is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
• Entry layout explained (ELE) is a detailed policy documenting how Wiktionary pages should be formatted. All entries should conform to this standard, the easiest way to do this is to copy exactly an existing page for a similar word.
• Our Criteria for inclusion (CFI) define exactly which words Wiktionary is interested in including. There is also a list of things that Wiktionary is not for a higher level overview.
• If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide to Wikipedia users useful.
• The FAQ aims to answer most of your remaining questions, and there are several help pages that you can browse for more information.
• We have discussion rooms in which you can ask any question about Wiktionary or its entries, a glossary of our technical jargon, and some hints for dealing with the more common communication issues.

Well, after your changes it doesn't really reflect our entry style. We don't have full sentences as definitions; instead, we use fragments or link to other sources where appropriate. For more on why we do this, see WT:WINW. The other changes are minor — if you want explanations for why I did what I did, I'd be glad to tell you. cno

Capitalization matters, so I removed the English section from cno. If it exists, it belogns at CNO, and {{also}} should eb used at the top of the two pages so that they link to each other. —Μετάknowledge^{discuss/deeds} 20:05, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks again. For what its worth there seems to be a large hole in Military related terms so that's where I'll probably focus on for a while. As I learn the ropes I may stray farther from that comfort zone. Kumioko (talk) 20:21, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

You have this as an acronym, which would only be correct if it's pronounced as a word (sudgt-mage-mar-cor?), I suspect this is an abbreviation, instead (an initialism would be where the names rather than the sounds of the letters are pronounced). Chuck Entz (talk) 03:44, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

Your right it shuold be an abbreviation. Its Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. Although the other one I created as SMMC, would be an initialism because you would sound the letters out. I'll fix it thanks. Kumioko (talk) 04:01, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
