Translations - wiki links (run off) edit

  • Voting on: the format to be used for trans-wiki links in Translations sections. I think it important to have a standard, and I would rather use that standard as I enter translations - rather than later. This is a run-off after vote Wiktionary:Votes/2006-12/"Translations - wiki links" which closed 2 days ago.

Options edit

Please either abstain or choose one of the options (2 and 3) offered below:

  1. Abstain/Status quo
  2. Example: German: Wissenschaft (de)
  3. Example: German: Wissenschaft

Note:

  • If we use the template {{t}}, logged-in users will be able to set preferences (at least with (user):monobook.css) to none, superscript code, or any symbol they like. Just not done yet. The debate is the default presentation. Robert Ullmann 15:57, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment edit

Do we want the parens to be part of the link or not? {{t}} has been like that for a short while, and I think it is better, since there is more room to hit the link. henne 14:18, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At the risk of starting another vote and discussion and all that, I'm against having the parentheses be part of the link. — V-ball 17:11, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree, but (anxious to avoid a vote!) in the original vote Wiktionary:Votes/2006-12/"Translations - wiki links" parentheses were mentioned specifically more often than not. —Saltmarsh 04:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Decision edit

Well - Option 2

seems the run away winner - although Option 3 almost came top of the previous poll. I understand DAVilla's reservations - (de) is only marginally more intuative than (el). —Saltmarsh 09:44, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
