Translations - wiki links (run off) edit

Voting on: the format to be used for trans-wiki links in Translations sections. I think it important to have a standard, and I would rather use that standard as I enter translations - rather than later. This is a run-off after vote Wiktionary:Votes/2006-12/"Translations - wiki links" which closed 2 days ago.

Note:

2 - I guess. I don't like the thought of implementing a list of languages in MediaWiki:Monobook.js to convert the translation language name into a language code. But with only a couple hundred wikis, I guess that isn't so bad. But the time we have a thousand Wiktionaries, we'll probably have a much more efficient way of doing this, I assume. --Connel MacKenzie 17:16, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abstain. Aside from the absence of a link, which was recently turned down, no. 2 is practically already the status quo. If the best we can do is a two-letter code then I'd rather have no policy, to allow someone to come up with a better system. The triangle wouldn't be so cryptic if the first in a line were followed by the full language name. DAVilla 18:44, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree, but (anxious to avoid a vote!) in the original vote Wiktionary:Votes/2006-12/"Translations - wiki links" parentheses were mentioned specifically more often than not. —Saltmarsh 04:57, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

German: Wissenschaft ^(de)
