Removal (twice) of isolated hamza edit

Please don't remove the request for an entry on the isolated hamza for a third time. We have articles on ~ and !, which also don't appear on their own, yet we explain them for our users in entries for those symbols. The isolated hamza should similarly have its own entry, where it will be explained. 24.29.228.33 03:28, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

We can and should have an article for ء, but that is not the purpose of this page. This page is for the posting of words that someone would like to see entries for. Each word posted goes under the letter that it starts with. No Arabic word starts with ء and we don’t need to have it as a heading. Initial hamza is borne by alif, and all words that begin with alif, with or without hamza, are alphabetized under alif. There are other pages that detail the Arabic alphabet, and other pages that deal with additional nonalphabetical letters and diacritics. You may make a proper article for ء, but do not add it as a header to this page again or you will be blocked from editing it. —Stephen 05:25, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bluelinks edit

Can the bluelinks be removed? 24.29.228.33 05:24, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes. —Stephen 18:34, 16 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
As long as they have an Arabic section (not just Persian or whatnot)

Wiktionary:Arabic transliteration edit

I'd like to request this; must have as much as 1000 incoming links. Mglovesfun (talk) 14:17, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

It can be added, but Arabic script is not like the European alphabets. Arabic and Persian words cannot be transliterated unless you are familiar with the word, because the Arabic script does not indicate double consonants or short vowels. —Stephen (Talk) 17:59, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
