  1. Sperm that is released into an aquatic environment such as seawater.
    • 1998, Luiz R. Malabarba, Phylogeny and Classification of Neotropical Fishes, page 242:
      The spermatozoon of Aphyocharax anisitsi is a typical aquasperm with a spherical nucleus, short midpiece and short cytoplasmic collar.
    • 1991, Barrie G. M. Jamieson, Fish Evolution and Systematics:
      Aquasperm contrast with intemally fertilizing sperm which do not enter the water, for which these authors have proposed the term introsperm.
