Vietnamese edit

Etymology edit

Borrowed from French acide sulfurique.

Noun edit

axit sunfuric

  1. (inorganic chemistry) sulfuric acid

Usage notes edit

  • The letter <n> is pronounced as the alveolar consonant /n/ by southern speakers, rather than the usual velar /ŋ/.
  • The letter <r> is more r-like for northern speakers, closer to the trill /r/ or the retroflex fricative /ʐ/ rather than the alveolar fricative /z/.
