Etymology edit

bio- +‎ unavailable

Adjective edit

bio-unavailable (not comparable)

  1. Not bioavailable.

Usage notes edit

  • This hyphenated form is about twice as common as the unhyphenated form, presumably because writers and editors believe the unhyphenated form is more confusing. In contrast, "bioavailable" is about five times more common than "bio-available".
