Swedish edit

Etymology edit

Borrowed from Middle Low German bursprake. By surface analysis, bur (burgher) +‎ språk. Originally in the sense of a townhall meeting. Current sense due to the bay window at Rådstugan, Stockholm, from whence proclamations of such meetings were made public. Compare origin of burbrev and burskap.
