Etymology edit
Borrowed from Ancient Greek βουστροφηδόν (boustrophēdón, “boustrophedon”, literally “a turning like an ox”), from βοῦς (boûs, “ox”) + στροφή (strophḗ, “turn”), because the direction of writing is like that of an ox when turning while plowing.
