casualism (countable and uncountable, plural casualisms)

(uncountable) The doctrine that all things exist, or are controlled, by chance.
(countable) A casual (informal) word or phrase.
Avoid casualisms when writing business letters.
(art) An art movement characterized by an unpolished esthetic, incorporating such elements as rough or torn edges, exposed staples, etc.

Usage notes edit

Do not confuse casualism (philosophy of chance) with causalism (philosophy of causes).
