Probably either borrowed from Italian cicoria[1] or perhaps from a Mozarabic form (cf. Spanish achicoria), from Vulgar Latin and Late Latin cichoria, from the plural of Latin cichorium, from Ancient Greek κιχόριον (kikhórion).
