chǫ́ǫ́ʼí (spoiled, ruined) + -x- (emphatic infix), a truncation of nichǫ́ǫ́ʼí (to be ugly, filthy, worn out) (from the root -CHXǪʼ, “to ruin”), with emphatic infix -x-.
