disseise (third-person singular simple present disseises, present participle disseising, simple past and past participle disseised)

  1. Alternative spelling of disseize.
    • 1793, Matthew Bacon, Henry Gwillim (Sr.), A New Abridgement of the Law, Volume 4[1]:
If the Heir of the Disseisor be disseised, and the Disseisee releases to the Disseisor upon Condition, and the Condition be broken, this revests the naked Right in the Disseisee, because when the Condition is broken the Release is as if it had never been, and therefore the Disseisee may recover by virtue of his ancient Seisin.
