Inherited from Ottoman Turkish طوری (doru, dorı),[1][2] from Proto-Turkic *tōrug (bay).[3][4] Cognate with Turkmen dor, Old Turkic 𐱃𐰆𐰺𐰍 (toruɣ), Karakhanid تُرُغْ (toruɣ), Uyghur تورۇق (toruq).
