ghazwa (plural ghazwas or ghazwat or ghazawat)

(Islam, historical) Any of the battles in which the Islamic prophet Muhammad personally participated.
A battle or raid against non-Muslims for the expansion of Muslim territory and/or conversion of non-Muslims to Islam.
