hylla
Icelandic edit
Etymology edit
From Old Norse hylla, from Proto-Germanic *hulþijaną, from Proto-Germanic *hulþaz (whence Icelandic hollur (“loyal”)). The sense “pay homage to” is due to influence from Danish hylde, Middle Low German hulden.
