Etymology edit

From Ottoman Turkish قزانمق (qazanmaq, to earn, gain, win), from Proto-Turkic *kaŕgan- (to earn wages by labour, to gain profits by trade, to strive for success). Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰴𐰕𐰍𐰣 (qazɣan-, to conquer, gain, win).
