The word klám is considered to be related to the Norwegian word klam (“moist, glutinous, adhesive”). Compare the Ancient Greek words γλάμη (glámē), γλάμον (glámon), γλαμυρός (glamurós) and the Lithuanian word glemes (“slime”). The word klám is also connected to the Low German word klam.[1]
