Etymology edit

Coined by American author and neologist John Koenig, creator of The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, from Ancient Greek κοινός (koinós, common, general) and the modern English suffix -phobia, itself from the Ancient Greek -φοβία (-phobía, fear).[1]
