kotitehtävä
Finnish edit
Etymology edit
koti (“home”) + tehtävä (“assignment”)
Pronunciation edit
- IPA(key): /ˈkotiˌtehtæʋæ/, [ˈko̞t̪iˌt̪e̞ht̪æʋæ]
- Rhymes: -ehtæʋæ
- Syllabification(key): ko‧ti‧teh‧tä‧vä
Noun edit
kotitehtävä
- (an exercise given as) homework
Usage notes edit
Unlike "homework", kotitehtävä is not a collective noun. Because of this, the Finnish term tends to be used in the plural, unless only one exercise or task is assigned.
