Spanish edit

Etymology edit

Inherited from Old Spanish luziérnega, from Latin lucerna (lamp) + the dialectal suffix -aga, from a pre-Roman substrate of Iberia. The positioning of stress in the antepenultimate syllable is also due to pre-Roman influence.

  • IPA(key): (Latin America) /luˈsjeɾnaɡa/ [luˈsjeɾ.na.ɣ̞a]
  • Rhymes: -eɾnaɡa
  • Syllabification: lu‧ciér‧na‧ga
