mindjárt
Hungarian edit
Alternative forms edit
- mindjárást, mindjárton (both: archaic)
Etymology edit
mind (“continually, all the time”) + jár (“to go around”) + -t, originally presumably in the sense “by all legwork”, “by all means”[1][2] (in which case the -t might have been the archaic locative suffix).
Pronunciation edit
Adverb edit
mindjárt (not comparable)
- instantly, in an instant, immediately, forthwith, at once, promptly, right away
