From Ancient Greek Μιθριδατικόν (Mithridatikón, “Mithridatic”), from Μιθριδάτης (Mithridátēs) + -ικός (-ikós), the Greek form of the name of Mithridates VI of Pontus. Doublet of mithridate, mithridatium, and mithridatum.
