Akin to Gothic 𐌼𐌰𐌿𐍂𐌸𐍂 (maurþr, “murder”), Old High German mord (“murder”), Old Norse morð (“murder”), Old English morþ (“death, homicide, murder”), Old English morþor (“secret slaying”).
