noçë
Albanian edit
Etymology edit
Unclear.[1] Possibly from an older *noshë, continuing Proto-Indo-European *néh₂s, *nh₂es (“nose, nostrils”), with the affricatization of the original final fricative (cf. çaj ~ shaj etc.). Semantically close to Old English nose, nosu (“ness, promontory”), Norwegian nōs (“muzzle, snout”).
Noun edit
noçë f (plural noça, definite noça, definite plural noçat)
