    • 1928, Dell Leigh, On the Line, page 75:
      I bumped into a nudish figure round a corner who informed the Agent in a disgusted voice that “someone'as bin an' pinched a raincoat o' mine; they aren't 'arf nippy, give yer my word.”
    • 1950, Tomorrow, volume 10, page 10:
      One injured editor recently defended a recent jacket of a nudish girl by saying: “We don't show the nipples — she's got on no less than they wear in nightclubs!”
