    2017 May 5, Accademia della Crusca[1]:
In almost all Italian dictionaries, the second word (after mamma) pronounced by the majority of Italian speakers, that is, papà, is classified as a Frenchism, that is, a tracing of the French papa. It is instead a term of central-northern Italian origin, which from the dialects of the North has passed into the national language, as has also happened to some other words of the daily and family lexicon.
