  1. Basic bismuth nitrate, or bismuth subchloride; used chiefly as a cosmetic.
  2. A variety of white lead blued with indigo or Berlin blue.
  3. A material made from fish scales, used in making artificial pearls.
  4. Any of various pierid butterflies of the genus Elodina.
