Etymology edit

Uncertain. Probably derived from/cognate with an Old Occitan stratum (because of the palatalization). Compare for more Galician pichola, Spanish picha/pichula, Portuguese picha, Italian pisello, Piedmontese piciu.

  • Sicilian words referred to male genitalia are feminine, vice versa for the female ones.
  • Usually Sicilian speakers refer to male genitalia attributing the male gender to them because of Italian influence. Cfr. cazzo>cazzu.
