  1. (pathology, chemistry, geology) The condition or extent of being pyrogenic.

      Pyrogenicity testing was developed from the rabbit test (monitoring of the temperature of three healthy rabbits for 3 h after injection of the test sample) to a more sophisticated and rapid method called the limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) method.
