Etymology edit
From Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (qonuq).[1] Ultimately from Proto-Turkic *kon- (“spend the night”), whence also Azerbaijani qonşu (“neighbour”). Compare Turkish konuk (“guest”), Crimean Tatar qonaq (“meeting room”), Chuvash хӑна (hăna, “guest”).
