      1. horseriding, equestrianism, equitation (act or action of sitting on and controlling a horse for sport, recreation or transport)
      2. riding (act or action of sitting on and controlling any animal for sport, recreation or transport)
      3. horse racing (horseback riding as competitive sport)
      4. (billiards) combination shot (shot in which the white hits first other than the actual target ball)

      Declension

      Usage notes

      Unlike in English, one does not "ride" a bicycle or motorcycle in Finnish. The verb used is ajaa (to drive), and the term for the act of driving is ajo or the fourth infinitive form of the verb ajaa, ajaminen.
