  1. A device for reseating a component.
    • 1928, Railway Age, volume 85, page 381:
      In addition to his own kit of hand tools, the mechanic has a pressure grease gun, a set of inside and outside micrometers, a paint gun, valve reseaters, special cylinder head wrenches, and an electric drill.
  2. A person who replaces the seat of a chair.
    • 2012, John W. Allen, Legends and Lore of Southern Illinois, page 151:
      The last of these workmen of the road to quit their rounds were the chair reseaters, commonly called chair bottomers, and clock repairmen.
