From Ottoman Turkish سویلنمك (söylenmek, “to talk to one's self, to grumble, to raise futile objections, to be said”),[1] from Ottoman Turkish سویلمك (söylemek, “to say, to utter, to declare, to speak”), from Proto-Turkic *söŕle- (to say towards) from Proto-Turkic *söŕ (“word, speech”),[2][3] morphologically söyle- + -n + -ti.
