Verb edit

save vs. (third-person singular simple present saves vs., present participle saving vs., simple past and past participle saved vs.)

  1. (transitive, roleplaying games slang, nonstandard) In certain games, to successfully guard against a particular danger.

Usage notes edit

  • The verb virtually always must specify an object, and that object is usually some sort of threat.
  • The "save vs. (object)" constructions are also often used as nouns, but save vs. by itself is not a noun.
Did you manage to save vs. poison?
No, my save vs. poison is terrible.
